About this portal
Siesta Key is a beach made of crystal. Its sand, of an almost dazzling white, is composed of about 99% pure quartz — the same mineral that healing traditions around the world use to amplify intention, purify and heal. This is no ordinary sand of crushed shell and coral: these are grains of crystal born in the ancient Appalachian Mountains, which over millions of years rose, wore down and were carried southward by ancestral rivers. Along the way the fragile minerals dissolved away, leaving only quartz — hard, translucent, immortal. That is why the sand stays cool to the touch even under the fiercest sun, and sings beneath the feet like a whisper. Before the Gulf of Mexico, where the sun plunges into the sea in golden fire, Siesta Key is a vast open-air field of crystal: a place of purification by water and by light, where to walk barefoot is to walk upon the crystallised memory of the Earth herself.

June 21
At the summer solstice, the sun reaches its peak over the Gulf of Mexico and pours full light onto the endless field of quartz.
