About this portal
Cusco, the 'Navel of the World' in Inca cosmology, was the center of the Inca Empire (Tawantinsuyu). The Sacred Valley of the Incas between Cusco and Machu Picchu contains dozens of ceremonial sites aligned with constellations and sacred mountains (Apus). Sacsayhuamán is considered one of the continent's greatest accumulators of energy.
