About this portal
The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima, in Portugal, is one of the most important pilgrimage centers in the world. In 1917, three shepherd children — Lúcia, Francisco, and Jacinta — reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary who transmitted the famous 'Three Secrets of Fátima'. The phenomenon of the 'Miracle of the Sun', witnessed by about 70,000 people on October 13, 1917, remains one of the most documented and unexplained events in history. The sanctuary attracts more than 6 million pilgrims annually.
