The National Sanctuary of Our Lady Aparecida, in Aparecida do Norte (SP), is the largest Marian temple in the world and the most visited spiritual center in Brazil. In 1717, fishermen found in the waters of the Paraíba do Sul River the image of Our Lady of the Conception Aparecida, patroness of Brazil. The New Basilica, with capacity for 45,000 people, is the second largest basilica in the world. The sanctuary receives about 12 million pilgrims per year, being a point of convergence of faith, devotion, and spiritual energy in the heart of Brazil.

Brasil oficializa Caminho da Fé como rota turística nacional rumo a Aparecida

Em 3 de julho de 2026, o presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva sancionou a Lei 15.449/2026, que reconhece oficialmente o "Caminho da Fé" como rota turística nacional. O percurso conecta mais de 70 municípios dos estados de São Paulo e Minas Gerais, partindo de Águas da Prata (SP) e culminando no Santuário Nacional de Nossa Senhora Aparecida. O reconhecimento federal garante apoio estrutural e de gestão às cidades que acolhem peregrinos ao longo da Serra da Mantiqueira, consolidando uma das mais importantes rotas de peregrinação do Brasil.
