The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, in Galicia, is the final destination of the Camino de Santiago, one of the oldest and most celebrated pilgrimages in the world, undertaken since the 9th century. Festas do Apóstolo 2026: Botafumeiro Voa na Catedral de Santiago em 25 de Julho

Em 25 de julho de 2026, Dia de São Tiago e Dia Nacional da Galícia, a Catedral de Santiago de Compostela celebra a Missa Solene com o icônico Botafumeiro — um turíbulo de 53 kg que percorre o transepto da catedral em arcos de 65 metros. A cerimônia, que reúne peregrinos do Caminho de Santiago de todo o mundo, é presidida por representantes da Família Real espanhola. Na véspera, 24 de julho, projeções multidimensionais iluminam a fachada da catedral na Praza do Obradoiro.
